Certificate in Conscious Sedation – Course Overview
This online course is designed for self-paced learning, delivered through online learning with additional support via email and phone from a personal tutor. From the outset, you’ll receive all required course modules, complete with clear instructions for progressing through the material, completing assessments, and submitting your work.
Throughout the course, you’ll have access to an on-call tutor available daily from 09:00 to 21:00 to assist with any course-related queries.
Conscious Sedation plays a crucial role in modern dentistry, offering essential support for patients with dental anxiety or phobias who may otherwise avoid treatment. In the UK, sedation methods include oral, inhalation, and intravenous drug administration. While these techniques help alleviate fear, they can also produce significant side effects that the dental team must be trained to recognise and manage safely and effectively.
This course equips dental professionals with the theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and professional judgement required to deliver conscious sedation safely as part of a dental care team.
